Hi, my beautiful friends. How are you doing? It's Mimi here today. Today, I'm going to show you how to do this absolutely perfect summer ponytail. It's really easy to recreate and it looks beautiful. Personally, I don't really wear ponytails very often. If I have my hair freshly blow dried, I'll wear it down. That's like 100% because I love wearing my hair down. However, on second or third day hair, I think ponytail is a much better choice.

For this hairstyle, you only going to need a few simple tools. You're going to need a teasing brush, hair elastic, and a few Bobby pins. Let's begin. The first thing I'm going to do is get my teasing brush and just tease the hair at the crown of my head. Now, I already have my hair parted in the middle, and I think for this ponytail, the middle parting will work the best. So, you can do that or you can go with side parting if that's what you prefer.

So, what I'm going to do is just take the brush and kind of go in the middle of my head and brush the rest of the hair back. So, we'll just start with that section that way. Now once I've done that, I'm going to just grab sections of hair. I'm not even going to use any hairspray, I'm just doing this just for a little bit of volume, for a little bit of oomph in there. So, I'll just grab a section, going to take my teasing brush. I'm just going to go in there and go up and down, which is very fast movements. Again, this just creates a little bit of extra volume that I need. Just going to grab another section on the side and do the exact same thing.

Then I'm going to go to the left side and do the exact same thing. Just pick up a little more hair and continue teasing. Once I'm happy with the tease, I'm just going to go back in there with my brush and just carefully smooth it out, and all I'm doing is just carefully brushing over it, just brushing the surface hair. All right. Now, I'm going to turn out and show you what I'm going to be doing in the back.

The first thing I'm going to do is get a section of hair here at the top. I'm going to twist it and as I twist it, I'm going to push it up just to create even more volume here at the crown. Then I'm going to grab my Bobby pin and just pin this twist in place. What I'm going to do next is just gather the remainder of hair, bring it up to the twist and secure it with a ponytail.

Now the last step for this ponytail is I'm just going to go to the ponytail and grab a small section of hair and then I'm going to start twisting it around the base of the ponytail. As I wrap the base of the ponytail, I'm going to go for as long as I can, then I'm going to grab my Bobby pin and then secure that end with the Bobby pin. That's finished.

It's a nice bonus to have, and also I think this hairstyle is great for hot summer days as well as second or third day hair like I mentioned in the beginning of the video.
