Christina and her childhood best friend both grew up watching Mimi's YouTube channel. When her best friend came across a Luxy Hair ad on Instagram looking for a Junior Designer, Christina knew she had to shoot her shot. The rest is history, and Christina now lends her creative mind to Pinterest, blog, and email visual content.
As a Junior Designer, I’m part of the creative team and responsible for creating social content and assets for our campaigns, weekly blogs, and newsletters. I make sure that the designs are visually engaging and fun for all of our beautiful viewers out there.
What does a typical day at the office look like for you?
I start my day making myself a cup of coffee, putting on my AirPods, and playing my Spotify playlist. I then look over my agenda to review any meetings I may have for the day and items that need to be completed for the week. I usually start working at my desk in the morning and relocate after lunch just for a change of scenery.
What drew you to graphic design? Why did you decide to pursue a career in this field?
I always had a passion for art and design, but could never decide on which area I wanted to focus on. It all started when Instagram, Snapchat and other social media platforms began to rise. I was intrigued by the elevated designs in user interface and user experience. From that point, I started researching more about graphic and product design and eventually pursued studying it in post-secondary.
Do you have a favourite artist or brand you admire from a design perspective?
Saint-Laurent is one of my all-time favourite brands, and am also a fan of Anthony Vaccarello (creative director at Saint-Laurent). They are one of the most influential fashion brands in the world and I gain so much inspiration through their incredible fashion shows, campaigns, ads, and, most importantly, their collections.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1.Travel to various parts of Asia
2. Live in NYC for a year with my best friend
3. Purchase my first home before 30
What’s one thing about you no one would guess upon first talking to you?
I grew up playing a lot of different sports, from golf to softball and then to lacrosse. I’m also a huge fan of basketball (Go Raps!)
Do you have a morning routine? Can you tell us about it?
I always start my morning routine with my 7-step skincare routine. It’s a must to achieve that porcelain, coin-bouncing, Korean skin.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose?
New York, no doubt about it!
Do you listen to anything while you work? What do you like to listen to?
I listen to a lot of rap and hip hop, mainly Travis Scott and Drake.
