The Faces Behind Luxy Hair: Sophie, Copywriter + Editor

So...what exactly do you do at Luxy Hair?

I’m the Copywriter and Editor at Luxy Hair. As Copywriter, I oversee the voice of the brand. This means conceptualizing campaign concepts, developing website text, naming new products and colors, writing email newsletters, assisting with marketing initiatives, and coming up with fun and creative ways to communicate with our customers. The editing aspect of my role has to do with the long-form content on the Blog. I brainstorm ideas for new content, edit articles, and help plan our content calendar.

What does a typical day in the office look like for you?

A typical day in the office is usually pretty fast-paced. I’m usually either ideating on concepts or working on copy for a marketing campaign, a new product launch, or the website itself. For the Blog, I’m often combing the internet for inspiration or in meetings with the editorial team strategizing and sharing ideas.

  • Where are you from?

  • Toronto. Born and raised.

What are three hair products you can’t live without?

I like to air dry my hair so I love a good hair oil, a leave-in conditioner, and a mousse to define my waves and get rid of frizz. After years of trial and error, I’ve gotten it down to a science!

  • What is your favorite Luxy perk?

  • Work from home Fridays and the amazing food. It’s so nice having a fully stocked kitchen for when you're feeling peckish. I also love being able to bring my dog with me to work every day.
  • What websites do you visit most?

  • The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Paris Review, and The Cut

  • Do you make your bed every morning?

Yes, my neatness borders on obsession.

What do you do to relax?

Put on some music, light a candle, pour a glass of wine, and do a face mask. Then, I get cozy on my couch with my dog and a book or a movie.
