Step 1

Start by clipping in your Luxy Hair extensions. Noel wears her 220g Luxy Hair extensions in Ombre Blonde. This will help had extra length and thickness while enhancing the hairstyle overall. Since you'll be wearing your hair in braids, the placement of the wefts is very important.

To ensure the base of the wefts are hidden in your hair, section your hair off in a downward direction in front of your ears. Next, taking a 2-clip weft, clip it into your hair vertically in the same direction you will be braiding your hair. Once you comb the front section back over your hair, everything should blend seamlessly.

Step 2

Take a small section of hair at the top of your head and divide into 3 pieces. Begin braiding your hair normally, ensuring you cross the strands of hair under each other instead of over each other. This makes it look like the braid is sitting on top of the head.

Step 3

Once you've created a few repetitions of a normal braid, it's time to begin the Dutch braid! Simply add pieces of hair to each strand as you go while continuing to cross the strands underneath each other, similar to how you would create a French braid. Be sure to pull the braid taut as you go.

If you happen to notice a weft poking through, don't worry! Just keep braiding and cover it up by combing your hair over the weft later.

Step 4

When you reach the bottom of your head, tie your hair off with a clear elastic, leaving the ends loose. To create a fuller appearance, gently tug on each section of the braid, pulling it outwards. Fun fact: this technique is called "pancaking"!

Step 5

Repeat the same process on the other side of your head. You can even use a few 1-clip wefts instead of a 2-clip weft, depending on the shape of your head and personal preference.
